AI CODE DETECTOR GUIDE

What does “No configured signals matched” mean?

It means none of Is My Code AI's published heuristic rules matched the code you supplied. It does not prove that a person wrote the code, that no AI assistance was involved, or that the code has no issue.

In Is My Code AI, analysis stays in your browser.

It is a result within a defined rule set

Is My Code AI calculates its score from configured code-style rules. When no rule matches, the tool displays the status “No configured signals matched.” The status is a direct description of that result: the supplied code did not match any rule in this particular heuristic.

It does not make a broader finding about every possible code pattern, every AI system, or the full history of a project.

What did not match

The published rules cover an explicit AI-tool attribution in a comment, boilerplate explanatory comment phrasing, long documentation-style comments, highly descriptive multi-word identifiers, repeated adjacent comments, and template-style defensive error text.

No configured signals matched means none of those rules fired on the submitted code. It does not mean that those patterns are absent from code you did not include, or that another tool would run the same rules.

Why this is not a human-authorship verdict

A code-style heuristic cannot establish who wrote code. A person may use an assistant and produce code that does not match these rules. A person may also write code that does match them. Project templates, documentation practices, formatters, and generated scaffolding can further overlap with style signals.

Read a zero result as a limit on what this configured rule set found, not as clearance or proof of a particular origin.

How to use a zero result responsibly

If you need to review a change, continue with the evidence a heuristic cannot see: surrounding implementation, tests, commit history, issue context, code review discussion, and repository conventions. These can explain a change in ways that a score cannot.

For a focused review, you can also submit the relevant local file or folder and inspect each file's status separately. More input changes the scope of the review; it does not turn the heuristic into an authorship test.

Keep source code on your device

Is My Code AI runs in the current browser. You can paste code, choose supported source files, or select a local folder; submitted code is not uploaded by this static site. The language picker supports Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, PHP, and C#.
