AI CODE DETECTOR GUIDE
Does an AI code detector JSON report include source code?
No. In the current Is My Code AI implementation, the downloaded JSON contains result metadata—not the submitted source text. It records file names, heuristic scores, matched signal names and weights, and the line numbers associated with those matches.
The JSON is assembled and downloaded in your browser; submitted code is not uploaded by this tool.
What the JSON contains
The export includes the analyzer label, ruleset version, maximum rule weight, the time the report was generated, and a result for each analyzed file. Each file result includes its name and score, plus matched signals with their weights and matching line numbers.
The export does not include the source text or highlighted code excerpts. The score is a sum of configured heuristic weights, not a probability or proof of who wrote the code.
Check file names before sharing
Although the JSON omits source text, its file names can still reveal project or work context. Open the downloaded file and review those names and the result details before sending it to someone else. Share only what is appropriate for your project.
Where the download happens
After an analysis, choose Download JSON report. The browser creates a local file named ai-code-detector-report.json. Downloading the report does not submit the code to a server; sharing the file later is a separate action you control.
The JSON is a compact record of matched signals, not a full transcript of the report view. For the highlighted lines and surrounding context, review the result in the browser.
Keep the result in context
A matched heuristic signal cannot establish AI authorship, copying, or intent. If you use the JSON in a review, treat it as a pointer to inspect the indicated lines alongside the code and its history—not as a verdict.
Open the AI code detector, then read how to interpret flagged lines or how folder results are organized.
